MADELINE DENARO
Madeline Denaro paintings are graceful layers of color that float through her large, abstract canvases with a subtle edginess.
“There is an openness that is needed for this direct experience, this self-imposed repetitive process of adding and subtracting, as I build, destroy, erase, paint over. There is a definite chaos through which each work evolves and it seems to return repeatedly to its beginning. But with each return, there are the markings, the scars of the previous layer. I have a relationship to these subtleties, these sensibilities, keeping some, hiding some…knowing full well all that has been before.”
Her paintings have been exhibit in national museums, including the Naples Museum of Art, as well as in Europe.
Madeline's new work, "the inevitability of change" has just arrived in the gallery. This exciting new painting, along with others, are currently exhibited in our gallery.
